Hounslow Physiotherapists also offer Paediatric Physiotherapy.

Paediatric Physiotherapy

Paediatric Physiotherapy treats children with a wide variety of conditions, from musculoskeletal to neurological conditions, from birth to 16 years of age.

Treatment is altered depending on the needs of each child, depending on the diagnosis. Physiotherapy helps develop the strength and range of motion children need to move through their environment easily and effectively.

Goals often include help with developmental milestones like sitting, standing, crawling and walking.

Does my child require physiotherapy?

If your child’s development has been a bit slow, for example not sitting by 9 months, or not walking after 15 months, then your child may benefit from physiotherapy.

If your child has been diagnosed with a paediatric condition listed below, or has suffered a recent injury, your child may benefit from physiotherapy.

Our therapist treats both neurological and orthopaedic conditions, ranging from ankle sprains to cerebral palsy.

What will the session entail?

The physiotherapist will first perform an assessment, finding out the main problems or delays with your child, and this will determine the type of treatment your child will receive.

The therapist will often give you a set of exercises or activities to do with your child at home. These exercises will focus on reaching your set goals for your child. Your therapist will advise you if there are any precautions or things to look out for while treating your child, and schedule follow-up appointments accordingly.
